PBS has produced an extemely powerful documentary called Dying to Be Thin. Narrated by actress Susan Sarandon, the hour long program is divided into eight chapters. PBS's tremendous multimedia presentation includes links from the video player to pertinent content on the web as it relates to the images on screen.

During the first chapter, we meet a 14-year-old girl who has struggled with anorexia for nearly a year. She talks about how she learned about not eating by watching a movie about the life of Karen Carpenter.

This is an excellent resource and learning opportunity that can be found free on the web. Go watch, and learn something.

Hat tip, Mind Hacks.
