More "math talk" means more math skills

A recent study in January's issue of the journal Developmental Psychology found that adults using numbers in everyday speech may be related to improvement in the math skills of four- and five-year-olds.  Even seemingly trivial instances of "math talk," such as saying "You two get your coats," instead of "You guys get your coats," can lead to greater improvement in math ability.
