Kids are Inundated with Images of Smoking

A report in the journal Pediatrics studied smoking in cinema and its relationship to the habit in children 10-14 years of age.  Ten percent of this group smoked; the number is put at about 22% in adults, reported USA Today.  A strong link was found between images of smoking on the big screen and prevalence of the habit among children.  Some 38% of those kids who smoked, cited smoking in film as their number one reason for starting.
