The University of Pennsylvania psychology professor Marty Seligman is the pioneer in the field of positive psychology, which in the past few years has been gaining popularity. It has been the focus of the well known "Happiness 101" college course offered at Harvard, with similar classes popping up at campuses throughout the country. Recently, Seligman even brought this branch of psychology to the Army.
