Stress May Lead Students to Stimulants
- Many students are turning to stimulants to get them through academic pressures. 25% of high school students have been asked for their prescription medication, which is often viewed as a tool rather than a serious medical necessity.

- The CDC delivered the sad results of its first report on infant mistreatment: one in 43 American infants are physically abused or neglected.
Exercise During Pregnancy Benefits Baby Too
- Pregnant women who did moderate aerobic exercise had fetuses with healthier heart rates.
Babies' Lack of Sleep Boosts Later Obesity Risk
- Harvard researchers uncovered a correlation between sleep deprivation and obesity for infants. Kids who got less than 12 hours of sleep were twice as likely to be obese by the age of 3.
Suicide Searches Produce Disturbing, Unsurprising Results
- British researchers looked for suicide information on the Internet using the four most popular search engines. Of the 240 websites that came up, 45 were pro-suicide. The authors suggest that this dangerous encouragement is balanced by the greater access to support services that the Internet facilitates.
