The Welcome Back Awards
, a national awards program sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company, has
extended the deadline
for nominations for the 2006 awards.
Each year a panel of judges awards over $50,000 to the not-for-profit organization of choice for each recipient. The awards recognize individuals who have made a contribution to the depression community. This can take the form of providing care, educating or effectively publicizing the disease.
In the battle against depression, making the public aware of the disease, its effects and the potential for care, is crucial. The Welcome Back Awards are a great way to encourage greater outreach as well as thank those who have made a difference.
